So what are the benefits of working as a Medical locum with Hospital Locums:
1.Flexible work arrangement where you decide hours and dates you want to work from 1 day to a weekend up to 3 month positions. Whatever you prefer we can try to seek out those positions for you.
2.You decide when and where you work.
3.Tax benefits as you can claim legitimate expenses of your locum work against tax ie if need medical equipment to perform your work can claim against income tax (seek accountant’s advice) This is usually not possible when on standard permanent contract with hospital.
4.Better rate of pay than currently getting in permanent post

Initially call or email us and tell us where in New Zealand you would prefer to work and what availability you have at present or may have in the future. You can contact us as early as you like.
When you join you need to provide us to start searching for your positions:
•A recent curriculum vitae
•Complete application form we will send to you.

What we need once registered
Once registered with us this is what we will need off you:
For longer term locums or permanent work especially if from abroad we will need:
•Completed application form.
•Copies of your qualifications.
•New Zealand Medical Council registration certificate (APC).
•Proof of medical indemnity (such as Medical Protection or RDA)
(these can be emailed to us).
•Proof of immigration status (ie residency, work visa) if you do not have New Zealand citizenship.
•At least 2 references from doctors who have supervised you in past 2 years.
•2 Passport photos to provide to the hospital confirming you identity
•Copy of your passport
•And all important your Inland Revenue number & bank details so we can pay you!
Everything is kept in strictest confidentiality and you can be reassured all your information will be kept private.
For New Zealand graduating doctors if you have full general registration then you can apply for locum positions.
After your locum is confirmed you will need:
MRSA Swabs done prior to position
Confirmation of Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) & medical indemnity
We will send these details off and arrange all the paperwork for you.
We will then arrange for your flights to and from your home address and arrange accommodation at the hospital where you are to work. You can claim expenses for transport to and from the hospital to the airport
