To work as a locum it is usually adviseable to find a good accountant. We always suggest getting a good accountant to do your tax returns. They save you time and can often discover expenses you didn't realise you can claim against tax. Again we can provide you with advice with this.
You may need to be registered for Good & Services Tax (GST) but we can help you through that process (if earning over $40000/yr in locum work). Don’t worry you still get same pay and benefit from any work related expenses can claim GST back if solely for work (currently 12.5%).
